Fast moving dot which makes me lose everytime!

[:1]I'm playing skirmish in Forged Alliance against a non-UEF ai faction at the most difficult level. About what seems like 10 minutes only into the game my UEF ACU gets hit hard by this really fast large white moving dot 2-3 times, and it is suddenly game over for me. I tried to capture a screenshot but it is difficult to predict where and when this fast moving dot is coming from. It is also impossible to view the map through the nuclear cloud. Any idea what this is? How do I stop it from happening? Thanks.|||There isnt so much stuff. Maybe it's a tectical missle launcher or arty (t3 tanks).
It's easy to find out. Look our last replay. Or scout it in the game.
Here you will find ur last replay.
C:\Users\Voodoo\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\replays|||Sounds like a T3 Strategic bomber. All Factions have these.
Mike|||a fast moving dot. HUMMM
Could it be t3 artiliery
or the experimental art
who knows|||reddev33|||Every time you play the game, a replay file is generated, and is entitled "LastGame". You can rename it to anything you want. If you could possibly upload this replay file, it would allow anyone here to tell you exactly what killed you.|||If it's against the AI it will only be useful until the first desync. In replays the AIs are recalculated with each replay, so the AI will behave differently.|||X-Cubed|||Falcrack|||bofhlusr|||Falcrack, to my experience, every single replay that I have made with an AI while in skirmish mode (not sure about online) will desync.|||Falcrack|||Yes it does work. Are you sure you did not accidentally switch the fire state to "Hold Fire"? That's what I think you did. Otherwise you have something wrong with your installation.
Yes you have to build a nuke with your ACU before you can launch it. Same with all silo'ed missiles.
As for that mystery killer, I'd think it was a tactical missile since 3 hits would total an ACU. Do you see a missile trail when it shows up? Does that dot swerve slightly when it travels towards your ACU? Use the in-game clock (it's in the top-right panels) to see when it occurs. I highly doubt an AI could get a tac missile within 10 minutes.|||X-Cubed|||X-Cubed|||My guess is a T2 artillery. If the shots were from long range, and moving very fast, that could be it. Tactical missiles may not move fast enough for what you described.|||X-Cubed|||if you're doing testing scenarios for fun then that's great. but if you're using them to become better at the game its a pretty slow and (possibly) unintuitive way of doing it. you could just watch replays of decent players and try and work out why they're doing what they're doing.
also, FA replays are one of the funnest things to watch in the history of gaming. and you can hold down the shift key to follow all the orders as they're made, or old ones that are still in effect. zoom in a bit and watch stuff from angles you'd otherwise not see in a game.
...
fvck, makes we want to get back into FA.
who rules the 1v1 ranked roost these days?|||VooDooMaster is the king of 1v1 right now. Rated at 2706.|||X-Cubed|||It's nothing that you need to worry about right now.
1v1 means the FA 1-player vs. 1-player ranked ladder. Ranked games are online games over GPGNet where you have a rating, which approximates your skill, that is increased or decreased depending on whether you win or lose matches. When you search for a ranked match, GPGNet will check all other players searching for a ranked match and try to place you against another player with similar skill. So matchmaking is random and you won't know who you are playing against before the match begins.
When you win against another player, your rating goes up. When you lose, your rating goes down. The greater the difference between you and your opponent, the greater the change. You start with a rating of 1600. VooDooMaster's rating of 2706 represents his "skill". The only real purposes of ratings is for comparison and bragging rights: his rating vs. your rating will approximate how much better he is than you are. If you know anything about competitive chess, the 1v1 ranked ladder is like that.|||pkc|||you can download replays from sites like gamereplays.org or you can grab them straight from GPGnet (the MP browser for supcom).
you could try this one to whet the appetite.
